🎶 Meet Saraban – The Soundtrack to Your “I Love This Song!” Moments

We’re Saraban — a female-fronted five-piece band based in Preston, with over 20 years of live performance experience and a serious love for genre-hopping. From jazz and pop to indie, rock, from the 70s, 80s, 90’s and a few modern songs mixed in too, we bring a fresh twist to every track we play.

Our sets are full of those “I haven’t heard this in ages… I LOVE this song!” moments — plus a few surprises that sound brand new until you realise you’ve been dancing to them for years.

Whether you’re after the full band experience or a stripped-back acoustic duo, we tailor our sound to suit your situation. With a melting pot of influences and decades of experience, we’ve crafted the unmistakable “Saraban Sound” — a blend of nostalgia, originality, and pure feel-good energy that sets us apart from the crowd.

📍 Based in Preston | 🎸 Available for gigs, events & private bookings

The band formed in 2006/7 with Sarah and Rachel (Hanson) on vocals, Barry (from IT) on lead guitar, Joe (Shep) on rhythm guitar, Neil on bass and Andy (Middleton) on drums. Over nearly 20 years the line up has changed a smidge, but the current line up has been secure since 2010 with a few “Super Subs” in Glenn Sanderson (bass), Tony Cornwell (most things), Dave Catchpole (drums), Andy Hyams (drums) helping us out when needed. For our full band gigs we also have the very talented Pete Knight on sound! We’ve never sounded better!

Sarah Hanson
Sarah Hanson
Original Singer, booker, sorter outer and social media muddler. Sarah has been singing/ performing since she was very young, with her sister, Rachel. From harmonies and backing vocals, she took over lead in 2010 and her vocals have gone from strength to strength.
Neil Mcloughlin
Neil Mcloughlin
OG member from 2006 and all round cool guy, our bass player was there from day one and still bringing the vibes today!
Tony Aspinall
Tony Aspinall
Joined in Feb 2009 with keys/hammond organ and the band started to gain momentum adding a different element to the guitars.
Simon Davis
Simon Davis
(The Legend That Is) joined us in the spring of 2009 adding his Marr-esque guitars that forms such a big part of the Saraban “Sound”.
Andy Cash
Andy Cash
The rhythm section and our drummer since 2010, Andy was formerly a member of Freckleton Brass band, so we actually class him as a “proper” musician! His diligence and attention to detail is just what we need to keep us in time.
Bamber Bridge FC. Saraban played our Beer Festival as a Duo with Sarah & Simon & went down a storm, a few months later the full band came down. What a superb band playing tunes that you will all know but are not the same old, same as, that other bands play
